Oasis Center Islamaili Canadian Fusion Wedding | Edmonton Wedding Photographer

Anyone planning a wedding has heard about the Oasis Center and all it's glory. As one of the most luxurious wedding venues in Edmonton it was a treat to be able to photograph Jessica and Kaiz' wedding ceremony and reception here. Jessica's side started the day with more than 10 people getting themselves glamorized by the amazing Sen Studios at Jess' home. Then we made our way to the Oasis and hung out in the bridal suite. Here Jess and her ladies got into their dresses, sipped on champagne, and indulged chocolates. While this was happening Kaiz and his guys were being pampered at the Compound Salon before heading over to the Matrix hotel to get into their suits. Once everyone was ready, the ceremony could begin! Jessica and Kaiz's wedding ceremony was a beautiful fusion of two cultures. Kaiz brought his African Ismaili traditions and Jess her Canadian one. The ceremony started as a traditional Ismaili wedding (except Kaiz was first seeing Jess as his bride down the aisle). Following the traditional Ismaili ceremony they exchanged romantic vows followed by a first kiss. It was lovely. After the ceremony we headed into the back of the Oasis center where you really learn where this building gets its name. Behind the building is a lush "garden" (more like a forest) of pine trees, ferns, roses, hydrangeas, and many other plants. It's gorgeous! They started with a lovely champagne toast. Then, naturally, we photographed all of the family, wedding party, and couples formal photos here. What a treat it is to be a photographer in Edmonton when we have awesome venues like this! Following photos we made our way back into the transformed Oasis Center for the reception. The Oasis Center always looks amazing and my favorite time to see it is when it is set up for a reception. It is luxurious and classy. The reception started with the always fun sapatia ceremony followed by dinner, speeches, and the cutting of one of the BIGGEST cakes we have ever seen (seriously check it out). After the formal program it was P-A-R-T-A-Y time. Of course the party was awesome because it was DJ'd by none other than Harmen B or Urban Metropolis. Congrats Jessica and Kaiz! It was a treat to spend the day with the two of you. Thanks for having us out.
